What's the point? By that time the people freaking out over CRT will have already moved on to the next boogieman they believe is destroying this country.

Except the concept of a meritocracy has absolutely been used to hurt groups of people. People of the belief that your success in the United States is ENTIRELY a result of the effort you put in have used that idea to then say that black people must only be disproportionally poor in this country because they are not putting in the effort. That logic is then used to curb efforts to reform or tear town political and institutional apparatuses that hurt minority groups by saying that (due to meritocracy) they are "undeserving" of that help, and that their problems are only a result of their own individual failures.

This is a really weird provision. Are we going to hurt the State of New Hampshire's feelings by doing this? Who exactly is hurt by the opinion that a political entity is bigoted?

Such as, Texan senate republicans trying to remove MLK and his "I Have a Dream Speech" from public schools. Because, of course, was it ever REALLY about just CRT?

That's honestly quite brave of this person. He's seen the sort of unjustified outrage that comes as a result of actually teaching history and he continues to stand for a quality education that teachers concepts that may make some folks feel uncomfortable but is beneficial nonetheless.

This is not even that surprising, it's amazing how during these insane moral panics how people will completely shut off their brains. From Mr. Potato Head to Dr. Seuss there is constantly some boogieman that we are supposed to believe will be the downfall of Western civilization or whatever.

"Critical Race Theory poisoned our water supply, burned our crops, and delivered a plague unto our houses!"
