    1. That’s supposed to make me love them? Their precious “Western civilization” is adisease, Percy. It’s killing the world. The only way to stop it is to burn it to the ground, start overwith something more honest.

The gods are at fault, they made someone to be the villain, thus they wont be blamed for all the ruckus and instead it was the violin that they’ve created will suffer the consequences

    2. Then it hit me.You will be betrayed by one who calls you a friend.‘You,’ I said

I have brought you a hero’s fate, and a hero’s fate is never happy. It is never anything but tragic.’I tried not to feel hurt. Here was my own dad, telling me he was sorry I’d been born. ‘I don’t mind,Father.’

No father should have said this to his own child, even if he was a mistake of their doing, he should be responsible and at fault for that mistake

    6. Lord Zeus has closed discussion on this matter. He will not allow talk of Kronos. You havecompleted your quest, child. That is all you need to do.

See another example, that they pay no heed to a warning a mere child, even the said child who has fixed their own problems, demigod, barely even a god

    7. Your uncle,’ Poseidon sighed, ‘has always had a flair for dramatic exits. I think he would’ve donewell as the god of theatre.’

I love how they can still joke after all of the tension hanging just a second before

    8. You still claim him then?’ Zeus asked menacingly. ‘You claim this child whom you sired againstour sacred oath?’‘I have admitted my wrongdoing,’ Poseidon said. ‘Now I would hear him speak.’Wrongdoing.A lump welled up in my throat. Was that all I was? A wrongdoing? The result of a god’s mistake?

As if Zeus has any reasons to argue, he had a child too if his memory serves him right

    9. Nobodyseemed worried about an impending civil war. In fact, everybody seemed in a festive mood. Severalof them turned to watch me pass, and whispered to themselves

I was right, Ares, was the master behind all of this, Ares is the war god thus it is no surprise he wants war however, the plan as Percy have said it was worthy praise of Athena. This is because Erin the original myth Athena and Ares are related in someway as Athena is also a war god

    16. Have you any idea how much my kingdom has swollen in this past century alone, how manysubdivisions I’ve had to open?’

This is why Hades is one of a kind god, he did not seek of power and more authority as he has all of those

    17. Welcome, Newly Deceased!

I don’t know if this is an oxymoron, an irony, or sarcasm either way they all fall in the same criteria that being dead is not something to celebrate about

    21. Straightforward and honest. No screaming. No “There must be a mistake, Mr Charon”.’ He lookedus over. ‘How did you die, then?

    22. Don’t think negative

Ironic but very useful, cause as the guardian of the water that appeared to Percy said, Hades feeds on fears and doubts of the peiople

    23. We were almost stretched to death!’‘Then you’re ready for the Underworld,’ I said. ‘It’s only a block from here.

Death is always with them either way

    24. Ah,’ I said, swallowing hard. ‘Sensible.’‘I’m so glad to come across an intelligent customer!

    25. A fake tear glistened on his cheek. He was saying, ‘Honest, Ms Walters, if it wasn’t for Sugar here,my grief counsellor. I’d be a wreck. My stepson took everything I cared about. My wife... myCamaro... I – I’m sorry. I have trouble talking about it.

How disappointing for the society to not investigate further

    32. Because you’re my friend, Seaweed Brain. Any more stupid questions?

    33. Because you wouldn’t leave two other half-bloods behind?’ I said. ‘That’s not fair.

    42. The GodsMount Olympus600th Floor,Empire State BuildingNew York, NYWith best wishes,PERCY JACKSON

    43. I was angry, not just with Annabeth or her mom, but with all the gods for this whole quest, forgetting us blown off the road and in two major fights the very first day out from camp. At this rate,we’d never make it to L.A. alive, much less before the summer solstice.

Meanwhile the gods are just sitting and arguing with each other instead of helping their children finish the quest

    44. the cursed Athena, turned me from a beautiful woman into this.

The story of Medusa was a sad one, Athena should have been the wise and smart goddess however, with the story of Medusa I know that like all gods and goddess Athena is as worst as them all

      So monsters have civilizations too

    47. But the blade will pass through mortals like an illusion. They simply are notimportant enough for the blade to kill. And I should warn you: as a demigod, you can be killed byeither celestial or normal weapons. You are twice as vulnerable.

      A pun to the eye?

    49. That is another ancient rule. Heroes, on the other hand, have certain privileges. They can go anywhere, challenge anyone, as long as they’re bold enough andstrong enough to do it. No god can be held responsible for a hero’s actions. Why do you think thegods always operate through humans?’‘You’re saying I’m being used

    50. Whoa, boy, said the small part of my brain that was still sane. You’re a kid. Hades is a god

    51. Go upstairs, Percy Jackson, to the attic. When you come back down, assuming you’re still sane, we will talk more.

Nature cannot choose as both gods are the rulers of nature itself

    53. Poseidon and Zeus,’ I said. ‘They’re fighting over something valuable... something that wasstolen, aren’t they?

Below are recent pictures of Sally Jackson and Percy. Police urge anyone with information to call the following toll-free crime-stoppers hotline

How unsettling and hypocrite, people believe a 12 year old child can do something horrible as killing his own mother

    56. My father?’ I asked, completely bewildered.‘Poseidon,’ said Chiron. ‘Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Father of Horses. Hail, Perseus Jackson, Sonof the Sea God.

    57. Step out of the water, Percy.’‘What –’‘Just do it.’I came out of the creek and immediately felt bone tired. My arms started to go numb again. Myadrenalin rush left me. And there his identity reveal

    60. This is difficult,’ he stressed. ‘I’ve had it used against me. No laughing at Percy, now. Mostswordsmen have to work years to master this technique

    64. What? You assume it has to be a male god who finds a human female attractive? How sexist isthat?

    65. I looked down and realized I was sitting in the only dry spot in the whole room. There was a circleof dry floor around me. I didn’t have one drop of water on my clothes. Nothing

This is a huge and big hint of who is the father of Percy as there is only one god who has the cabal it’s to command water (Poseidon)

    66. A half-blood.

For the lack of better word they are demigods.

I like how Annabeth was the only person to explain everything to him rather than the adults who should have helped and supported him better

    67. You don’t just choose a cabin, Percy. Itdepends on who your parents are. Or... your parent

I was right the cabin determines who’s god/parent you have

    68. You’re undetermined,’ Luke explained patiently. ‘They don’t know what cabin to put you in, soyou’re here. Cabin eleven takes all newcomers, all visitors. Naturally, we would. Hermes, ourpatron, is the god of travellers.’

The cabin has a rank or a house that determines who they came from or who their parents are.

    69. Why depressing?

    75. Who are you,’ he mused. ‘Well, that’s the question we all want answered, isn’t it?

The others does not know who he really is as well except for his mother

    76. Then, as you well know – or as I hope you know, since you passed mycourse – the heart of the fire moved to Rome, and so did the gods. Oh, different names, perhaps –Jupiter for Zeus, Venus for Aphrodite, and so on – but the same forces, the same gods.’‘And then they died.’‘Died? No. Did the West die? The gods simply moved, to Germany, to France, to Spain, for awhile.

So all civilizations has one belief they never change only the names were

    77. That’s what. Oh, I love mortals – they haveabsolutely no sense of perspective. They think they’ve come so ̃o ̃o far. And have they, Chiron? Lookat this boy and tell me.’

Yet they put mortals to do their own task and duties for the world

    78. But they’re stories,’ I said. ‘They’re – myths, to explain lightning and the seasons and stuff. They’re what people believed before there was science.’

I would react the same thing.

    79. Please,’ I said, ‘what is this place? What am I doing here? Mr Brun – Chiron – why would you goto Yancy Academy just to teach me?

I know its part of the story to give like a good opening explanation of what really is going on, but I feel Percy on this one he deserves explanation right now especially when his mother is gone

    80. We have satyrs at most schools, of course, keeping alookout. But Grover alerted me as soon as he met you. He sensed you were something special, so Idecided to come upstate. I convinced the other Latin teacher to... ah, take a leave of absence.

Like a cia agent, instead of terrorist or criminals they look out for people who are in danger and have a special power to recruit

    81. But I was too miserable to care that satyrs existed, or even Minotaurs. All that meant wasmy mom really had been squeezed into nothingness, dissolved into yellow light.

They are like the grim reapers who tells you that your time has co e

    83. Oh, nobody much,’ Grover said, obviously still miffed about the donkey comment. ‘Just the Lordof the Dead and a few of his blood-thirstiest minions.

Sarcasm like its no biggie that the grim reaper himself is hunting them down

    84. The less you knew, the fewer monsters you’d attract

But its also a double edge sword, its a risk to gamble for the more he knew he is aware and prepared

An ancient language Percy needs explanation ever since he experienced all that in his childhood

    86. I had always assumed he knew me as a baby. My mom had never said it outright, but still, I’d felt itmust be true. Now, to be told that he’d never even seen me...I felt angry at my father. Maybe it was stupid, but I resented him for going on that ocean voyage, fornot having the guts to marry my mom. He’d left us, and now we were stuck with Smelly Gabe.

I feel bad for Percy as his father left them even though he knows he is expecting a baby. Whatever situation he is in I just wished he could’ve at least visited once or twice for Percy’s sake he is a 12 year old child

    87. Her name is Sally Jackson and she’s the best person in the world, which just proves my theory thatthe best people have the rottenest luck.

    88. I started feeling cranky and irritable most of the time. My grades slipped from Ds to Fs. I got intomore fights with Nancy Bobofit and her friends.

I was expecting someone would help him, a teacher or a guardian

    89. I was alone. There was a ballpoint pen in my hand.Mr Brunner wasn’t there. Nobody was there but me.

I hate how they just left him alone there without further explanation and for him to figure it out him self when he’s just a kid

    90. She wasn’t human. She was a shrivelled hag with bat wings and claws and a mouth full ofyellow fangs, and she was about to slice me to ribbons.

This is where Percy first challenge of life and death begins

    91. . I smelled like livestock andmy knees were shaking. My head felt like it was splitting open. I was weak and scared and tremblingwith grief. I’d just seen my mother vanish.

Early age trauma, mother died right in front of his eyes while being hunted down as well

    92. got mad, then – mad at my mother, at Grover the goat, at the thing with horns that was lumberingtowards us slowly and deliberately like, like a bull

    1. The best way to increase your vocabulary, formality, or other skills, habits, and choices that professional writers make, for example, is by reading, and specifically reading in the discipline in which you wish to write.

I agree as we read and read, we pick up words we usually never use and we learn and apply it more often.

    2. Just like active learning described above, active reading is more effective because the reader—you—is more involved in your own reading process.

Everyday we always read, whether a text, a book or a simple passage. And in that sense we put ourselves in those readings and depending on what it is will determine our behavior in reading.

    3. who you are as a reader matters: your experiences, your memories, your knowledge from other literature, other courses, and other texts – are all very important to bring to your reading process.

Books have a lot of meaning behind their story and each person understanding is different, how we understand the story came from our own experience and knowledge in life

    4. When you are more active in your own reading process, you not only comprehend and retain the information better — reading becomes dynamic and interactive.

And you enjoy what you’re doing, we are more awake and active and engaging in activities with this style.

    5. We have just established that there are multiple ways of thinking, learning, and expressing ourselves. It is no surprise, then, that there are multiple ways of reading, and that reading and writing are connected.

Everyone has their own style of studying and understanding the concept.

    1. little, if any, value around sharing power

As a team or a group everyone should be responsible for their own, while having a leader we as followers should also guide the leader.

When judging someone we have to consider why they made that mistake, and what strengths that make up for the mistakes

History tells us a lot of things, it makes our ignorance disappear and make us aware of the past mistakes that happened.

    2. He said each of us has a moral obligation to stand up, speak up and speak out.

Indeed, we have to use our voice, we have to let the world know what is going, in order to make a difference.

    3. Around the country and the world you set aside race, class, age, language and nationality to demand respect for human dignity.

We are all humans, our blood is red as everyone else. No matter the race or differences, we have our similarities. It is only right and just to have equality together.

    1. Code meshing be everywhere. It be used by all types of people. It allow writ-ers and speakers to bridge multiple codes and modes of expression that Fish say disparate and unmixable.

It allows us to connect to people. Language is an important tool to make connections, and to communicate with each other.

    2.
