Don’t just write down your feelings — address them to the person or situation that’s troubling you. Even writing a letter to yourself can provide a safe space for release without the pressure of someone else’s reaction.
This approach is very effective because even when you feel alone and unsure of what to do with your emotions, you still have a pen and paper that will not judge you. When I write my feelings down whether they are good or bad they begin to make more sense, and I am better able to understand what to do next. Writing helps organize my thoughts and brings clarity to emotions that once felt confusing. Once we start writing about something that is unclear, it slowly comes together and begins to flow naturally. This is also why psychologists often write down what their patients say it allows them to reflect, analyze, and better understand thoughts and feelings before responding.
