    1. I will tell you that you don’t need an introductory paragraph, at least not of the 1) topic sentence 2) structural methodology 3) thesis statement variety that we were all taught in high school.

      In my opinion, the author has all her thoughts structured so incredibly well because she is one of those organized brain people who also has a gifted talent for writing. If I were to try and do this, it would come out like I talk, the whole essay would be everywhere the reader would be so confused, which is why I need to stick to the traditional form of writings essays.

    2. In 2008, a few months after my son was born, I wrote the words I think I need help in my journal. I was scared I might hurt him. I didn’t know there was a name for what I was feeling, that postpartum depression was a Thing, and it would take three more years for me to be able to look at those words—I need help—without crying.

      This saddens me to no end, we liven a time where we have such top medical advancements and resources, yet women are afraid or unable to ask for help for multiple reasons. There is still a stigma around mental health, not like in 2008 or in the 1990's. I think there is still judgement especially when it comes to mothers and public opinion.

    3. Please stop teaching us to fear it, to speed through it, to bullshit through it,

      Teaching through negative reinforcement doesn't always get the best results.
