After all, the world is a scary place where kids can go missing in minutes. In fact, in 2017 alone, there were 464,324 entries to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) for missing children.
Some missing children's cases are runaways, miscommunications with their parents, and even due to custody battles. By mentioning predators in the next paragraph, this tells me this is a hasty generalization due to the fact that this quantitative evidence is not 100% accurate.
