I think this is a really good example of how Western feminism can overlook the actual problems women in other cultures experience. Instead of listening to Arab women about what they need, some Western feminists assumed their culture and religion were the main problems. This supports the author's argument because it shows how feminism can exclude women of color when it only focuses on one perspective. It also makes me wonder how often people try to help others without understanding their experiences first.
