    1. We report on a Japanese VHL family

      PatientID: 2

      KindredID: 1

      Case: F, 39Y0M, Japanese

      DiseaseAssertion: assumed VHL

FamilyInfo: Her older daughter (P1) with cerebellar hemangioblastoma, retinal capillary hemangioma, pancreatic cysts and a hearing impairment, and her younger daughter (P3) with cerebellar hemangioblastoma, spinal cord tumor, retinal capillary hemangioma, pancreatic and renal cysts both had the p.P86L VHL mutation. Her husband did not.

CasePresentingHPOs: HP:0006880; HP:0009711 (Cerebellar hemangioblastoma; retinal capillary hemangioma)

CaseHPOFreeText: At age 39, suffering from retinal angiomas and a cerebellar hemangioblastoma, she underwent surgery for removal of the brain tumor in another hospital. After the operation she suffered from left facial palsy.

CaseHPOFreeText: Presented at age 39 with bilateral renal tumors (2 right side, 3 left side). Pathological evaluation revealed clear cell type renal cell carcinoma (fig. 1, B). After 2 years multiple pancreatic cysts were noted. Two years later 6 bilateral renal cell carcinoma lesions developed. Five years later at age 48 years mental confusion developed and brain MRI showed a cerebellar lesion; histological evaluation revealed cerebellar hemangioblastoma.
