Systemic inflammation as reflected by a rise in serum inflammatory biomarkers has been linked to arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death in the setting of other diseases such as myocardial infarction Elmas E, 2008 where the majority of fatal arrhythmia occurs. The question that is arisen by this study is that whether treatment of other types of systemic or local inflammation as is during myocardial infarction prevents arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death?
