The realization was blasted from his mind instantly by the sound of an automobile collision in his head.
The handicaps that are put on people are more like torture tactics, rather than ways of preventing anarchy. The men and woman that have done nothing to challenge anyone have be punished and hurt the most.
And George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental handicap radio in his ear. He was required by law to wear it at all times. It was tuned to a government transmitter. Every twenty seconds or so, the transmitter would send out some sharp noise to keep people like George from taking unfair advantage of their brains.
It is human nature to try and be better. There is no growth or education when we are limited and prevented from learning, observing, and comprehending what we experience. The limitations are a way of controlling the people, but the people have nothing to do or to offer because they have never gotten a chance to be who they really are.
