One way to figure out what type of bond a molecule has is by determining the difference of the electronegativity values of the molecules. If the difference is between 0.0-0.3, then the molecule has a non-polar bond. If the difference is between 0.3-1.7, then the molecule has a polar bond. If the difference is 1.7 or more, then the molecule has an ionic bond.
