      I wonder why most of his commentary right now is about the women around him?

    1. Yes, two black hens.

      Odd to say that people would get in a fight about two hens and someone died from it! It must have been more than that, maybe it had to do with the two different cultures of the European captain and the natives?

      This simile really shows how big the congo river is, a bird is very small compared to a snake

      Their reaction to Marlow really shows the crews relationsip. They all are close enough to know just what was going to be said by Marlow after he said what he worked on.

      It's like he (I think marlow) has no purpose. He seems poor because he can't afford great Roman wine and he's just sailing around until someone needs help.
