    1. Start by identifying public figures and entertainment stars -- e.g., trendsetters like Donna Karan (Urban Zen) and Hugh Jackman (Laughing Man) -- who care about developing an ethical framework for capitalism. Leverage their authority and influence to bring ethical fashion into the forefront of public attention. Rather than trying to appeal to people’s conscience, begin to make the ethical choice the fashionable one.

I like this approach. These celebrities can definitely influence consumers. I've seen products on the show "SharkTank" that are fashionable and appeal to people's conscious. In one episode, the inventors went to Africa and employed people of lower economic status. A large percentage of the product's sales were distributed back to the people.

    2. When a garment is made in the developing world, the average percentage of the final retail cost that goes to the garment worker ranges from 0.5 - 4 percent.

Here, the author basically answers the questions she asked in the first paragraph. This is a nice transition because it provides background statistical information on the topic. She is basically building her case on why it is important to change the fashion world by focusing on how products are made.

    3. If consumers then begin to ask questions and demand accountability — if humanitarian, health, and environmental concerns start to drive the fashion industry — ethically sourced fashion will become the norm. The status quo will change. In the end, change depends on the willingness of workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs to step into the unknown. Let us be some of the first to insist on a better world.

Nice conclusion. It summarizes all that that she said and drives her point home. I do feel that the paper could have more depth to it. I also don't see any citations, i'm guessing this is because this paper is in a magazine.

    4. Make it personal: Use photographs and story to creative a narrative about the product so that consumers feel that they are not just buying an object but becoming part of a story.

It's always a good idea to make a connection with your audience and make them feel included. This paragraph is really short.

    5. fashion

This may actually be the thesis. I thought that the last thesis in the the first paragraph was the thesis, but this sentence summarizes what this paper is about.

    6. may

This introduction definitely gives the reader a sense of what the paper will about. I personally, wouldn't ask question in my paper because I feel that it is tacky, but I can see why the writer felt the need to ask these questions. The questions lead to her thesis.
