Fannie Lou Hamer
What stands out most about Mrs. Harmer's testimony is her sheer determination and strength. This is a woman who was born into a family of sharecroppers. She made a huge difference for African Americans civil rights. Her testimony was a first hand testimony to the life in the Jim Crow south. talking about how much she had to over come to just vote, the threats she received and the courage to never quit. It is also seems like I had heard a similar story just from a different author or speaker of the same race.
