On June 25,1950 , 75,000 soldiers from the North Korean people army rushed across the 38th parallel which is basically a boarder between North Korea and South Korea in 1948. North Korea was aligned with the Soviet Union and South Korea aligned with the United States. At the end of WWII in 1945 Korea was freed form Japanese control. The Soviet troops withdrew from Korean in 1948 and the U.S troops withdrew in 1949, however North and South Korea as enemies of each other didn't accept the boarder between them as permanent. The North Koreans attacked South Korea on June 25th advancing across the 38th parallel. The United States and president Truman were then deeply concerned about the spread of communism, which people viewed as a direct threat to American democracy. Truman also wanted to prevent Russia from gaining anymore territory and believed North Korea was the Russians 1st step towards world domination. So basically Truman had no choice but to stop the North Korean army after they invaded the South on June 25th. The Korean War didn't last very long but it was very costly.

The Chinese Exclusion Act is the first law to significantly restrict immigration and eliminates most new Chinese immigration to the United States.
The Chinese exclusion act of 1882 was the first important law that restricted immigrants to the United States. It was a federal law that was signed by president Chester Arthur in 1882. In 1852 many people experience. There was shortage in there crops and over 20,000 Chinese immigrants were left looking for jobs. In May 1852 California forced a foreign miner tax of $3 a month, which was only meant to target Chinese miners. This head tax was first created to discourage Chinese people from entering Canada after the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway .By the 1870's the miners had 5$ million to the state for the foreign miner tax. Inspite the fact that they face a lot of discrimination the main purpose of the Chinese act was to allow a large number of Chinese immigrants to the U.S ( California ). Chinese immigrants and their American born children and families weren't able to get their citizenship until 1943 when the passage of the Magnuson act came into play. Surprisingly the Chinese Immigratcion act which is now known as " The Chinese Exclusion Act" banned the entry of virtually all Chinese immigrants for 24 years.
