Probably the most dangerous thing about an academic education–least in my own case–is that it enables my tendency to over-intellectualise stuff, to get lost in abstract argument inside my head, instead of simply paying attention to what is going on right in front of me, paying attention to what is going on inside me.

      A way to connect with the audience, I can at least relate, and I know others who could too, it seems many of us tend to overthink and miss clear things that are right in front of our eyes.

      This statement here is extremely intriguing and compelling. This is one thing that I think is great about a liberal arts college education. For me, I feel I've always been a person with more of an open mindedness attitude, but felt surrounded with people who here not in high school. This led me to think of it as a more negative or issue inducing quality. But after attending St.Norbert, within the first semester, I figured out it was quite the opposite of a negative quality, and this statement clearly highlights that by saying "because we prize tolerance" which is comforting and relieving for me.
