    1. Registered Nurses (RN)

is this really needed? esp. since this text is for nurses, why do we need this here? students have learned the nursing process and the NPA, they know this about their peers

both of these references appear to be the same, and if so, why not have just the one reference?

    1. individuals to whom the task has been delegated should have demonstrated and documented competency for the delegated task, care, or activity. Other important considerations with delegation include education and training of the delegatee, experience of the staff me

this content was discussed in great detail already. I suggest sharing examples: state which tasks could be delegated to which staff and to which patients.

This broad statement doesn't add much value as is.

throughout this page and other chapters throughout this book, you have shared duplicate citations. why not use the same reference and citations?

    2. delegating to a licensed nurse, the delegated responsibility must be within the parameters of the delegatee’s authorized scope of practice under the NPA.

in this instance you refer to NPA when delegating to a licensed nurse, this sounds like it confirms previous points that an AP does not abide by the NPA

    1. team member’s scope of practice as defined by their state’s Nurse Practice Act

this would apply only to nurses, other team members do not abide by the NPA. I'd reword this sentence.

    1. So how does Maslow’s theory impact nursing and prioritization? To better understand the application of Maslow’s theory for nursing prioritization, let’s consider another patient scenario.

Suggest putting this introductory statement as its own line after the para above.

    1. CHF

suggest changing to HF, as congestive heart failure is just one of about 10 types of HF.

HF has been common practice for a number of years now... I know this as my dissertation was on HF

    1. health disparities

do students know what this means? I don't believe I've read a definition so far in this chapter, it's my third one. there are many concepts defined multiple times in this text, suggest defining it here.

I teach global health and so many students (at the graduate level) think this has the same or very similar meaning as health inequities and health inequalities.

I checked a few of these links, and as noted above, the reader would have to subscribe to read the content. is there another way to share the article?

    1. efforts to advance the nation’s behavioral health needs.

all of these examples are health insurance related, this is the only one that is not, more of a resource anyone can use

    2. American Indians

in my workplace, we were told not to use "American Indian". I read articles that state the term Indians came from C. Columbus, thinking he was in India.

Suggest using Native Americans or Indigenous

    3. Populations

why is half the man 'covered' when it's only pregnant women being covered? this part of the image is confusing.

adults are covered, with disability, that is confusing.

    1. praise and blame

and also lead to ethical dilemmas, such as providing futile care (long-term vented patients)

though I do see this is about economics... but futile care is quite costly

    2. Gross Domestic Product (GDP

most of us have heard about GDP but will students know what it actually means? I suggest a sentence defining this concept so the graph can be more informative.

    1. died

what were the repercussions? it was helpful reading this info in other sample cases, suggest adding this here, as the student would be very curious what would happen to them if they are in this situation.

    2. Drug Diversion and Substance Abuse

suggest sharing somewhere in this chapter, maybe here, that some states have programs in place to assist nurses with substance abuse, such as in NY, SPAN

    1. Damages

I know it's hard to find images for a section like this one, but this just doesn't fit. maybe if some of these images were smaller it would look better?

    2. Breach of Duty

I don't see how this illustrates breach of duty, this image is not helpful. as with previous comments, this and other images are way too large

    1. unfreeze

as noted in a previous comment by someone else, this concept is written as "unfreezing" multiple times. I suggest using the same concept throughout.

    2. See Figure 4.4[2] for an illustration of change

the image is not an illustration of change. either change the image to reflect the description or change the description.

    1. education regarding pain reduction techniques

vague, which techniques were taught and did the patient understand?

      Which pain meds were given?

      this documentation needs further refining.

    1. Pain medication includes morphine, hydromorphone, and dilaudid

I suggest adding fentanyl to this list, replacing either hydromorphone or Dilaudid, as it corresponds to the image you direct your reader to... Also, hydromorphone and Dilaudid are the same medication--brand and generic

    1. Throughout their life experiences, individuals learn the concept of pain

      suggest something like this instead:

Individuals learn the concept of pain throughout all stages of life

    1. he has been increasingly withdrawn but is adequately performing ADLs

in a previous chapter on subjective assessments, you advised the student to put these statements in quotation marks.

    1. Impaired Oral Communication

this is about communication, which sense does this apply? Hearing? I would tie in the applicable sensory organ to show the connection

    1. cognitive impairment. Although the speed of processing and memory can be affected, normal aspects of aging do not include cognitive deficits

not sure why there is a paragraph on cognition and aging. the first sentence addressed sensory and aging, but then the rest goes into just cognition, how is this related to sensory functioning?
