These lines directly connect to Dante's experience entering hell and seeing the bodies and people flowing in. It presents London very similarly to hell, and this is seen as the passage into the Inferno. This feeling of London seeming just like a commute connects this to an everyday obligation and inevitability rather than a fierce, passionate, and emotional sacrifice.

The use of German is so interesting because the Germans are partly responsible for the destruction of WW1 and they were the enemies of the UK. Their being responsible for the wasteland makes sense in context too. The translation says" To my homeland—my Irish child, where do you dwell?" is interesting as it makes it seem like the Germans are beckoning the Irish to come to their homeland yo die.

This line is very interesting because the first line talk about how the warmth and life of April is cruel, and this line talks about how he travels south for the winter. Why would he travel south if he hates the warmth? This paradoxical relationship is puzzling, as though these lines the poem intensely lack life and this one line about heading for warmth and the life of the south just doesn't add up.

The original title of The Waste Land is so bizarre and does not seem related in the slightest. Firstly, the wasteland describes something lifeless and vacant. The other title, "He do the Police in Different Voices," decribes Police which are used to control groups of people. This shows a certain opposite nature of the two titles, as one describes a place with no life and the other one with so much life that they need police to control it.

The Title "The Waste Land" is quite interesting. The poem is very abstract and all over the place, describing a lot of the world we live in, from life to death and everything in between. However, the word "Waste Land" means barren and lifeless, despite the first lines of the poem describing life and rebirth. This paradoxical relationship is quite interesting.
