      Here he poignantly recounts coming to terms with his identity as a black’ Puerto Rican in the United States, while confronting his own family’s racism and denial.

      being discriminated by other peoples is something not normal but we can said it happen more often but being discriminated by your family and denial is actually more crazy cause are supposed to be there to help and push you forward but in really some of them you want to push you down and its crazy that racial discrimination still happening today because the color don't represented who you are it don't matter if you're black, white or any color what really matter is who we are and our values.

      What is wrong about not being white? well is literary nothing wrong with that but if we go to the term of discrimination we can see how many peoples are being affected by the color or race and specially in America a lot of police and people of power use the power against black and latinos community because of racial discrimination.

      In fact, some of my colleagues, my coworkers stayed there until they retired 25 years later. When that was happening, | would think, "Gosh, if | had stayed, | would be retiring now. | would be done.” It was amazing to realize that it's one of those change points in my life where a decision makes all the difference.

      It's crazy the fact that this is more common that what we think, I have seen so many peoples telling me I had been for 25 years or more than 30 years just living of a minimum paycheck. I believe this is due to the fact that they feel like they can't do something better or that is the only opportunity that they have in life, the majority of dream and better opportunity that we wish to have we don't have it because we're afraid to try or we just don't care about the life style we're living even though we don't feel comfortable.

      When you think of home right now, what does that make you think of?

      The thing is that there are a big difference between a place and home. A place could be any place that you may stay and bring you the necessary thing that you may need, but home is where you feel happy, you feel comfortable, where you feel you belong to that place, where you feel all your memories and important thing are attached to that place. When you think about home is make you think about the place where you're happy.

Still I think I ought to tell you that the most important men and forces inter- ested in keeping people poor and ignorant and fighting wars one against the other, have their offices in one short street in this New York to which your relatives are trying to bring you.

      Who is she referring to in this section? Even though, I believe she is referring to how peoples try to disguise the reality of New York telling people that is the greatest city in the world and that's easy to get money and all of that.

      This is the sad part about New York that everybody is so busy focused on their jobs, class and responsibilities that we barely have time to spend time with our families and close one.
