    1. Oh, excuse me. My toddler throat. My past theoretical throat. Forgive me, if it's hard for me to understand the difference.

So what I am understanding is that Morit supports Eugenics and Keiya has a disability due to her parents and if the Eugenics movement won then Keiya would not have been born. Even though Morit believes in Eugenics its interesting how she still treats Keiya as she would any other person and even seems to advcate for Keiya

    2. It's only cause Morit is never like, Keiya sweetheart. Everyone else has been like, Keiya sweetheart. Well-meaning caregivers with ready smiles and hands eternally in position to help.

I think that with this the author means that with Keiyas disability rather than treating her like normal people are almost in a sense treating her like a child

    3. Sweet naïve Morit. Terribly silly Morit, who thinks Keiya ought to be blipped out of existence, yet asks her the questions like Keiya's opinion on it matters.

I also think that Keiya feels that Morit is out to get her when in reality Morit does value Keiyas opinion and wants to hear what she has to say. I think some of this thinking may be due to how Keiya has been treated in the past with her disability and maybe because of her disability people dont value her opinion.

    4. They meet in the station cafeteria but it's awkward as hell since higher-ups like Morit aren't supposed to be seen talking to the janitor.

      Weird Dynamics/Hierarchy to have

    5. My head for a study? My head for her to play Devil's Advocate? My head for her to crack it open...

I feel like Keiya goes out on these spirals and sometimes when she cant get out of them she has to physically get hurt

    6. It's true: Keiya used to work for the Litch Guild. She used to spin out impassioned speeches, post them on the database, garner critiques and flamewars and ardent supporters. She used to be a Somebody. Overrated, abya.

      Then something happened?

    7. He was pale-brownish, he had soft wavy hair and light eyes. Keiya needed stitches in her forehead twice. She gave herself a concussion.

Or maybe when she sees people as cute?

    8. She hits herself in the head, hard with her knuckles, until her forehead has these indentations and bruises. That happens a lot. She goes to get the docbot to clean her up.

This also happened. Maybe some kind of tick to stop thinking?

    9. Well, sure, she's got her tablet, but it's not like anyone wants to talk to her, and it's too much of a bother to program the right phrases in

Do people view her in some way where they dont want to speak to her?

    10. Clean it! Fix it! Dispose of me.

Adds to what I have mentioned earlier. Looking back after finishing does this refer to the pressure of the eugenics movement and Keiya just feeling like a problem?

    11. That, Keiya thinks wryly, should ideally involve putting me out the airlock

I think that Keiya may think because of her disability or that she thinks differently she's useless or should be thrown away
