    1. So we quiet. I quiet. I eat my cinnamon bread

This mean at lot for me :

      1) Did she tries to mean she’s quiet because our community can’t understand her deeply ? 2) Did she means she’s quiet because she prefers to be alone better than be part of a rubberband or 3) Did she means because we don’t take any action that’s why she's stay down .

    2. I think you’re beautiful, except in my head, except I decide I can’t live this way, and walk over to him and place my hand on his shoulder, lean in close and whisper, I love your argyle socks, and he grabs my hand,

Both stanzas describes what type of person is the Author . She’s Ashamed, scaring person and she’s not open to people in the community . So I feel like she prefers to see people action in the community before to start acting . ( She’s not synonym of first person but second person).

    3. the way a memory holds tight in the smallest corner. He smiles and says, I always hope someone will notice.

This is a dream for the Author , so basically I can figure out that the Author is dreaming about how she wants people to react or behave with her in the community.

    4. the way a memory holds tight in the smallest corner. He smiles and says, I always hope someone will notice.

I feel the Author is dreaming about the gray haired man characters. For her , the man should be a good or nice man because she focuses on his appearance.

Now I think she was focusing on the cashier appearance too maybe that’s why she felt in love. ( first stanza)

    5. But in this world we’ve been taught too keep our emotions tight, a rubberband ball we worry if one band loosens, the others will begin shooting off

I feel like the rubberband for the author mean “group of people”. She wants everybody to be one flesh so we can defend ourselves more better than be individual.

    6. in my head—you the baker, you the novelist, you the reader, you the homeless man on the corner

This stanza is connected to what the Author mean by “ how much I love his eyes“ . This mean without the paint wool , the rain would describing you more about who you are in the author head.

This is sound like hallucinations but at the same time it sound correct because it’s possible to recognize well people during the conflict.

    7. And now I’m thinking how much I want to rush up to the stranger in the plaid wool hat and tell him how much I love his eyes

Based on the story, I imagine that the plaid wool the Author is talking about can be Umbrella . Maybe she uses plaid wool as a metaphor to not say “umbrella”.

It sound like during the rain people protect themselves with umbrella. Like she loves the rain , she prefers to see people eyes well during the rain without umbrella or plaid wool . I feel like people eyes during the brain would be more clear than under the plaid wool , maybe it’s she tried to say.

    8. he fog, the frost—how it covers the clovers —and by clovers I mean lovers.

This part is the important part for the Author. As a reader, this part describe more what the Author mean by : “ I’ve fallen in love with it many times“. She describes what push her to feel in love the rain.

    9. The rain, I’ve fallen in love with it many times,

This love the Author use is different from the one in the first stanza” the cashier “ . I think the Author found two different types of love: Human love related to the cashier( person) And Natural love related to the rain .

    10. a woman dancing outside the bakery holding a cigarette and broken umbrella. The rain,

I feel like the Author use the first and the second stanzas to describe how people behave around her. she’s using both stanzas to show how the readers will imagine or feel about the behavior of others people around her .

    11. of the beast, the belly of a whale, in some sterile wilderness, desert island, sand-blind; I am a thread in the deep eye of a needle;

The Author use too much metaphor to describe the challenge he has at workplace . The sound make me worry about his job because Breathing in and out the booth people can’t feed during three quarters of an hour mean 45 min is not obsessed for human .

    12. alongside a stream of water you can hear but cannot see.

This is a broad meaning. At this part I feel like it’s just the Author who can describe more about what he tries to say. But if it’s water like “ raindrops” he means , the experience shows during the raindrops you can see raindrop from the sky Less than four millimeters close to you.

    13. the low ceiling,

“ This is a metaphor “, I see forward how some ceilings look like and based on the Author situation I feel like he’s using ceiling as a problem or challenge. So low ceiling can be low problem or small challenge .

    14. where she will send me

I imagine as well the author and the technician are coworkers or maybe one of them is giving hand to the other because this sentence clarify the technician is ordering the author .

    15. the machine makes a softer sound, almost pleasant, something like a lone cricket,

I feel like the first stanza is connected to the second stanza. So basically the Author is comparing the sound of the machine and a lone cricket .

    16. imagine holding a moth—so as not to kill it and not to let it go.

I feel like this stanza is describing more how bulbous call looks like . So the Author continues to compare the “bulbous call” and the “ moth” .

I understand that the Author want to release the bulbous but at the same time he doesn’t want to throw it like he’s saying for the moth “ so as not to kill it and not to let it go”.

    17. bulbous call

I think “bulbous call” is not a type of bulbous that appear on our skin but this bulbous call can be object like small light ball soft like chewing gum.

    18. sorry as I have ever been for myself and suddenly sorrier

This is Round character because the Author is showing how (he/she) is feeling during the challenge. Also it sound like he pities himself .

    19. three quarters of an hour, breathe in and out and pray, curse, clench my teeth,

This sentence is describing the “ booth” in the fourth stanza . Basically booth is a small tube or small area and I imagine how it’s difficult for the Author to breath in that small place . Also it connected to the fifth stanza , the Author mention that : “ I cannot imagine she could fit herself into the tube” .

    20. She feeds me into the mouth of the thing,

This is a “metaphor”. But I feel the Author mean the technician give him/her inspiration or advice about how the Author can make (his ) job more easy.

Ex: she Suggests me to breath through the mouth when I got inside.

    21. she

I think “she” is describing the Technician because in the second sentence the text is talking about two personages just the Author and Technician .
