In this research, chronic illness and disability are not considered two different conditions (Saad) but as two sides of the same coin, as the World Health Organization’s definition of disability demonstrates.
There's so much talk about whether chronic illness and disability could be considered the same; sometimes people go so far as to say that mental health is also is the same boat because they are considered "invisible disabilities."

I feel like this applies so much to Caitlin because of all the questions she's left with after Ingrid's death. Not only that, but the journal she finds, too; instead of finding answers in the journal she seems to be left with more questions.
For each lens, we provided a mini- lesson to explain the concept and modeled its application with the students. Then, the students worked in their book club groups identifying if and how the lenses applied to either their book club books or other multimodal texts we included in the unit.
I feel like this is a good way to break down and process what could be rather complex to understand all at one time. Personally, it always helps to break down information and process it bit by bit before bringing it altogether for a unified understanding.
