    1. Referring to L.G.B.T. people with the name that most now use for themselves is part of the “respect” called for by the Catechism…. Refusing to call a group by the name that most in the group prefer borders on disrespect.

I agree with this. we may not have the same beliefs, but I'm still going to respect them.

    2. The first was the Trump administration’s proposed modification of Title IX to define “sex” as either “male or female, unchangeable, and determined by the genitals that a person is born with,” leaving all “disputed cases” to be resolved through genetic testing.

I agree with Trump here. when you are born, you either have one of the genital or the other. There is no in between. I'm still going to respect your decisions, but I just think you are either male or female

    1. Many people still are learning about transgender persons. Before the Covid-19 pandemic shut down our daily lives, I had lunch with a local priest who had baptized my grandson. He wanted to learn more about me. One of the first things he asked was if I was ever physically or sexually abused when I was young, because it was his understanding that people become transgender as a result of abuse. I have never been abused.

Honestly, I'm still learning about transgender people. I'm really glad this priest is taking the time to learn more about it.

    1. Gratitude and reciprocity are the currency of a gift economy,

I like this statement. sometimes, a simple thank you or a nice complement can really go a long way for someone. sometimes it could even mean the world for someone.

    2. I imagine if we acknowledged that everything we consume is the gift of Mother Earth, we would take better care of what we are given.

I agree with this. we only have one earth and I feel like we just take it for granted. unfortunately, I've seen a lot a trash on the ground and at the lake. this a perfect example of people taking the earth for granted.

    1. You are called to learn from one another,

I can relate this so well. There are many times were I've actually learned new things from other people and even use what a learned from them in my life.

    1. My child, remember night and day him who speaks the word of God to you, and honor him as you do the Lord.

This is a statement that I really relate to. my parents always remind me how God is great and how all my successes are thanks to God.

    2. f someone takes from you what is yours, ask it not back, for indeed you are not able

This statement kind of caught me off gaurd. If someone asks me for something like a pencil, piece of paper or anything like that, I don't mind them keeping them. if its something that's a bit more personal like a coat, I'm going to want it back at some point

    1. Or that the Hummer that just cut me off is maybe being driven by a father whose little child is hurt or sick in the seat next to him, and he’s trying to get this kid to the hospital, and he’s in a bigger, more legitimate hurry than I am: it is actually I who am in HIS way.

I can relate to this statement a lot. in my personal life, I always have cars who just want to zoom past me. I can sometimes understand why they want to do it, but sometimes it just chaotic.

    2. As I’m sure you guys know by now, it is extremely difficult to stay alert and attentive, instead of getting hypnotised by the constant monologue inside your own head (may be happening right now).

I really agree with this statement. Like it's always hard for me to stay focused on what we are talking when my mind is always wandering off
