The inclusion of a permanent exhibition about tea culture across Asia offered an additional point of entry to residents of these counties, where tea cultivation is a major sector of the local economy.
This would seem useful as it is relevant to the Southern-Taiwanese. "Major sector of the local economy". The same way it would be useful to have a sheep-sheering exhibit in Mudgee. Or the snowy-hydro discovery centre in Cooma, NSW.

Taiwanese identity grew more distinct from Mainland China
Taiwan and its attempts to legitimise itself as a sovereign state seperate from china -
"Trump infuriated China’s leadership when he spoke to Tsai on the phone and later made separate comments questioning the longstanding “one China” policy, under which the US notionally accepts Beijing’s view that Taiwan is part of China. The US does not officially host Taiwanese leaders. Taiwan has been self-governing and de facto independent since the end of China’s civil war. Beijing regards it as a renegade province".

residents of rural America might be hard-pressed to reach a single one.
There is a beyond HUGE difference in spending between the New York County and Arkansas. As much as i personally believe everyone should have access to the same recourses and materials. It would make sense to give a lower-budget/grant to Arkansas. Comparatively to somewhere like Washington - the birthplace of 'American' democracy, where a lot of museums are dedicated to the historical/political narrative. Washington and New York are hub's for tourism. You go to museums there not just for leisure but education purposes also.

The fraught United States presidential election cycle of 2016 has revealed a country divided along geographical and ideological lines. It has also bolstered a narrative of haves and have-nots, pitting the so-called coastal elites against “heartland” America.
The unprecedented circus of an election in 2016 had certainly shed light on the massive class-divide in the US. Cultural, geographical, socioeconomic and ideological. - It was (visually) communicated that people on the coast were more inclined to vote for Hillary, as majority of the coastal states had been coloured (a democratic) blue. As she had won the state of California, the largest economic state in America - People assumed this had more to do with her years of rubbing shoulders with the elite and big banks. Rather than the people in those states having aligned values and ideologies. Whilst the republican party won the majority of heartland states (coloured red). People in the heartland states of the US were still massively affected by the GFC of 08'. The burdens resulting from the GFC is something Obama (democrat) had promised to emancipate the American people from. Whilst there was a huge economic resurgence for citizens in the coastal states of the US. Heartland citizens were still waiting. It can be stated that there was a big issue regarding the narrative of haves and have-nots.. an issue where geographical lines could literally be drawn. Or rather.. coloured in.
