Why is it so bad to let religious groups participate in political campaigns. I believe it is no different than someone in the media sharing their political views to the world, and having someone who looks up to them wanting to be like them. So they decide to vote or want that persons political party to win.

The mother obviously wouldn't let her child walk around the neighborhood if she didn't believe it to be safe. The person calling the police most likely had something against the mother and saw this as an opportunity.
