    1. The first was the Trump administration’s proposed modification of Title IX to define “sex” as either “male or female, unchangeable, and determined by the genitals that a person is born with,” leaving all “disputed cases” to be resolved through genetic testing.

I too agree with Trump that gender is defined as either male or female, and can not still quite wrap my head around the fact of how this would not be true.

    2. Just as the Trump administration threatens to undo decades of work in creating a more just world for queer persons,

Why make changes to something that has been a set rule within the religion for so many past decades and has not been an issue until recently?

    1. What if the Honorable Harvest were the law of the land?

My only question is, how would we all be held accountable for this? Also, would there be punishment if these laws were not followed?

    2. How can we reciprocate the gifts of the Earth?

I have never thought about how humans should repay the earth for the many gifts because they are so ordinary and overlooked by society. The world would be a better place if we all considered this.

    1. I imagine if we acknowledged that everything we consume is the gift of Mother Earth, we would take better care of what we are given.

We commonly stray away from our roots and forget the simple things in life, as was also talked about in "This is Water." If we all just went back to the basics and looked at all situations from another point of view we would be much happier and pleased with our lives.

    2. Gratitude and reciprocity are the currency of a gift economy, and they have the remarkable property of multiplying with every exchange, their energy concentrating as they pass from hand to hand, a truly renewable resource.

I have never thought of it this way. Indirectly, so many outcomes can come out of giving a gift. Even from something as simple as eating a natural plant, gratitude and reciprocation will continue and help someone else.

    1. God has so many different unsearchable waysof taking wicked men out of the world and sending them to hell

If God has the power to take anyone out of this world at any time, why not immediately send those who are thought of as worse than those in hell to hell?

    2. ea, God is a great dealmore angry with great numbers that are now on earth;

I find it hard to believe that God is angrier with some people on this earth than someone already in hell for eternity. On earth, we still have the chance to correct our wrongdoings, whereas those in hell have no escape and have already fully committed to the devil.

    1. But receive everyone who comes in the name of the Lord, and prove and know him afterward; for you shall have understanding right and left.

No matter the religion, or differences that anyone may have wit you, like God, we must be kind and invite anyone along to have the opportunity to follow in Christ.

    2. See that no one causes you to err from this way of the Teaching, since apart from God it teaches you.

Although one might think that supporting Christ would be where you learn more about your relationship with God, it may actually be when you are not close with him that you become closer. Through this separation you realize what is missing.

    1. By encouraging openness between the Church and the scientific communities, we are not envisioning a disciplinary unity between theology and science like that which exists within a given scientific field or within theology proper.

Many believe that science and faith can and will never go hand in hand, but it nice to see that the church is so openminded to other views and willing to work with them as well.

    2. So much of our world seems to be in fragments, in disjointed pieces. So much of human life is passed in isolation or in hostility. The division between rich nations and poor nations continues to grow; the contrast between northern and southern regions of our planet becomes ever more marked and intolerable. The antagonism between races and religions splits countries into warring camps; historical animosities show no signs of abating.

It is crazy to think that even at the time that this was written separation between groups was a large issue. Especially compared to today, this issue has only grown worse. Also, I find it interesting that with the creation of new groups and connections, it is almost creating a larger divide between us all. As people do not agree with these new groups more problems and separation arises.

    1. There is no such thing as not worshipping. Everybody worships.

Although a simple statement, I find this to be very true and overlooked in todays society. Whether it is something materialistic or truly unable to comprehend, such as a God, we all worship something. It just comes down to the fact that without the belief in a higher being, we will not live our life to our fullest potential.

    2. Because a huge percentage of the stuff that I tend to be automatically certain of is, it turns out, totally wrong and deluded.

I find that this sentence helps support the authors original questions of "What is water?" Like the fish, we as humans are commonly unaware of what is going on around us.
