    1. It is quite possible to be relevant to something or responsive to it without ensuring its continuing presence in a student's repertoires of practice (Gutierrez & Rogoff, 2003), and so its presence in our classrooms and communities. We need a new term and a new approach that will not only more accurately embody some of the best past and present research and practice but will also offer pre-service and in-service teachers a way of both naming and conceptualizing the need to meaningfully value and maintain the practices of their students in the process of extending their students' repertoires of practice to include domi- nant language, literacies, and other cultural practices

The professors/teachers often work hard in the classroom without it being fully acknowledged , this article embodies this statement heavily. By taking moment to glance this significant paragraph you're able to realize the importance the pedagogy being instilled into our future educators.

    2. Without such resistances students will continue the age-old American saga of being asked to lose their heritage and community ways with language, liter- acy, and culture in order to achieve in U.S. schools

American literature can be quite complex. I agree with the statement of the students being deprived of their individuality to an extent.

    1. Co-teaching requires that teachers be humble enough to become students of their students—especially the students who have been most harmed, and will benefit most from a teacher listening to their experiences.

Teaching requires plenty off boundaries being set, trust and confidence to step in front of a foreign group of kids in the matter of ten months to teach them what they need to know without them completely dying of boredom or curling up in a shell of desperation to leave due to being introverted.

    2. The best teachers don’t just keep teaching. Instead, they use their pedagogy as protest: They disrupt teaching norms that harm vulnerable students. In my years in the classroom since 2001, I’ve learned something about how to do this. I call it reality pedagogy, because it’s about reaching students where they really are, making sure that their lives and backgrounds are reflected in the curriculum and in classroom conversations.

"The best teachers don't just stop teaching" really spoke to me because i believe this statement is important when it comes time for students to fully trust and invest into teachers that are patient enough to stay and continuously building off of their foundation .

    1. All assignments are to be submitted via Canvas.

In the past there have been miscommunications between students and professors if there will be multiple sources in regards to turning in assignments. Knowing I'm already quite familiar with canvas , this is reassuring .

    2. I reserve the right to make changes as necessary. I will always alert to these changes ina timely manner.

2020 has been the year to have as all shook, we have undergone a series of abrupt changes within a matter of 4-5 months. Addressing this minor yet essential note in the syllabus allows us as students to be prepared academically and mentally for any future changes to the course.

    3. Laptop Checkout: 8am-7pm(check COVID restrictions)

I unfortunately do not have a working laptop, so when i returned to UNT I misunderstood the hours for the utilization of the laptops provided for students/ I am glad our professor made note of this within the syllabus so I can get to the library during the appropriate hours to use the laptops in order to complete my homework on time.

    4. Minimum Technology RequirementsEach student will need: •Computerwith speakers and microphone •Reliable internet access (please communicate with your instructor ASAP with any concerns)•Microsoft Office Suiteor similar Word processing software•Google Drive account (this is free)•Canvas Technical Requirements(https://clear.unt.edu/supported-technologies/canvas/requirements)

If most students are like me, I'm not very tech savvy with Microsoft word or zoom, but with resources such as youtube i can get an idea of what will be required of me for the duration of this semester and use tools such as youtube as my compass/navigation tactic.
