    1. Obviously there are complications, but these are just complications. They are not physical limitations we can’t overcome.

I do not think this statement is accurate being that there are multiple obstacles that African Americans and others have yet to overcome.

    2. If dystopia helps to scare us into working harder on that project, which maybe it does, then fine: dystopia. But always in service to the main project, which is utopia.

In my personal opinion thinking that something is a dystopia to make me work harder wouldn't be my way to define this being that the world we live in today with its curveballs. The majority of obstacles that people face with the government, the police, there environment. This is what contributes to the dystopia

    3. So by force of will or the sheer default of emergency we make ourselves have utopian thoughts and ideas.

Just knowing that everything will not be perfect ever in our world natural, we have to mentally prepare ourselves and have utopian thoughts to try to make them come alive.

    4. The collective has to change, and yet there are forces keeping the collective from seeing this: thus dystopia now!

This is us the people who are unwilling to change and these poor animals are the ones that are left suffering.

    5. This period we are entering could become the sixth mass extinction event in Earth’s history, and the first caused by human activity.

This is a realistic definition of an dystopia but in this case it does not affect the human population, instead it is affecting the animal population around the world.

    6. Dystopia is surely one expression of that feeling of detachment and helplessness.

The feeling of being stuck in a situation that you cannot get out of or that no one else can help you with.

    7. What it does very well is to portray the feeling of the present for young people today, heightened by exaggeration to a kind of dream or nightmare.

Makes it feel like this is something you cannot run away from

    1. For the savagepeople in many parts of America have no government at allexcept for the government of small families, whose harmonydepends on natural lust.

I do not fully agree with this statement. Being that all of America is under a democratic government.

    2. First •competition, secondly •distrust,thirdly •glory.

All components of dominant men and I often see these characteristics within life, in my family, and in social structures.

    3. ·Glory·: Every man wants his associates to value himas highly as he values himself;

Again proving the point that males like to feel dominant and superior to others or as if everyone has to bow down to them.

    4. Because of this distrust amongst men, themost reasonable way for any man to make himself safe is tostrike first,

The one who strikes first will most likely claim that he is the more dominant male.

    5. It’s just a fact about human naturethat however much a man may acknowledge many others tobe more •witty, or more •eloquent, or more •learned than heis, he won’t easily believe that many men are as •wise as heis; for he sees his own wisdom close up, and other men’s ata distance.

This seems like man compares and tries to dominate himself over others like a competition.

    1. My first image of American liberators was thus – after so many palefaces inblack shirts – that of a cultivated black man in a yellow-green uniform saying: "Oui,merci beaucoup, Madame, moi aussi j'aime le champagne . .

This is impressive and a good way to show that African Americans are diverse.

    2. Citizens, friends. After so manypainful sacrifices . . . here we are. Glory to those who have fallen for freedom." And thatwas it.

You would think after people have lost their lives for their country that the leader would have a more heartfelt speech and not something that short.

    3. Should we die for the glory ofMussolini and the immortal destiny of Italy?" My answer was positive. I was a smart boy

He most likely answered positive because if you go against the government in any type of way something bad might occur.

    1. On the one hand love comes into opposition to the interests of civilization; on the other civilization threatens love with substantial restrictions

In my opinion love has nothing to do with civilization but rather has to do with two people coming together based on common interest.

    2. At the same time we have been careful not to fall in with the prejudice that civilization is synonymous with perfecting, that it is the road to perfection pre-ordained for men

Why is it not the road to perfection for I all people instead only for men?

    3. . If the attempt were not made, the relationships would be subject to the arbitrary will of the individual: that is to say, the physically stronger man would decide them in the sense of his own interests and instinctual impulses.

Implying that man is superior and other minorities will succumb to them. This can relate to our society today being that is majority male. If the man is stronger basically he can have anything.

    4. feature, however, seems better to characterize civilization than its esteem and encouragement of manȂs higher mental activities

I am not sure if this characterizes civilization being that it involves one’s mental processes which can be different from others
