      The pleasantry of fokir’s work and the uncanny of his life and death has made Piya come to pleasant outcome in his honor. In others words his death was made into a positive thing.

      Ghosh uses a narrative style that make readers think of Anthropocene. Although the novel is mainly about zoology and climate changes. Nirmal says that before learning about the weather we must learn about geography of the earth. The beginning of it and how it came to be. Which is Anthropocene.

      Piya believe there is injustice for animals in India. She decides she will be the spokesperson to defend their rights as “citizens”. Nirmal feels the same way how the people. He believes there is major injustice for refugees in India and tries to fight the system. From a post colonial view, it may be difficult to see why Piya is fighting but easier to see why Nirmal is. Due to the fact that he is fighting a system for people, while Piya is mainly concerned about animals.

      In The novel, there is a great exposure to animals and humans living among one another. This is a major factor in the book and one of the leading causes.

    1. It's more than climate change; it's also extraordinary burdens of toxic chemistry, mining, depletion of lakes and rivers under and above ground, ecosystem simplification, vast genocides of people and other critters, etc, etc, in systemically linked patterns that threaten major system collapse after major system collapse after major system collapse.

      They are trying to say, it is more than just the simple things. There comes a point in time where everything fail, for instance environment, resources, etc. The “system” shuts down and the existence on earth forms new normalcy until that on collapse.

    2. Plantationocene, or Capitalocene have to do with scale, rate/speed, synchronicity, and complexity.

      I agree with this statement due to the fact that time and existence has is something that is hard to begin to understand. Sometimes there’s no connection or explanation to why a certain event occurs.

      To me when writers use words like “of course” it makes me feel like this is an informing article. They are informing or educating me on whatever it is I am reading.
