Despite the increase in databases on electronic literature, and the wealth of information already available in them, we are very far from having a complete overview of all electronic literature.
Depending on how expansive "electronic literature" is as a term, this may be legitimately impossible. Heck, even under a very narrow definition, the continuous expansion of the online world means that e-lit is generated far, far, far faster than it can be catalogued. How often do people produce e-lit without knowing that they're doing it?
