    1. There is no such thing as an “LGBTQ Catholic,” or a “transgender Catholic,” or a “heterosexual Catholic,” as if our sexual appetites defined who we are; as if these designations described discrete communities of differing but equal integrity within the real ecclesial community, the body of Jesus Christ.

I believe that most people focus way to much on gender and other things and I think that people should start focusing on personality and other traits not just what the person identifies as or looks like.

    2. This binary classification of sexual identity would impact nearly 1.4 million Americans who do not identify with the gender indicated on their birth certificates, prompting transgender and gender-queer persons (and those who stand with them) to characterize the proposal as transphobic and anti-LGBTQ+.

I disagree with this because the change would cause a lot of issues and these issues would create massive world wide problems and the only way issues start is when we bring up change within that certain thing.

    1. For as long as I could remember, since about the age of 3 or 4, I knew that I was different. As a child, for years I would go to bed praying that I would wake up as a girl. This is a story commonly echoed by many transgender people like myself.

This is very good because everyone is different and seeing it at such a young age such as 3 or 4 just means that you understand what's going on with who God is and how he created us. Now on the other hand I disagree with the fact that he is praying to become a girl because God made you for a specific reason he gave you the gender you are today for a specific reason and I believe that God has a reason for what he picked your gender, race, etc.

    2. I was, and still am, very confident in my relationship with my God. I knew I would be the same person walking out of the confessional as walking in, no matter what some might say or claim about me.

This is a really good point because you shouldn't have to change anything about you for someone else and your faith shouldn't change because of someone else's opinions it's what you believe in not what someone else wants you to believe in so I think your faith could connect you to other people that have the same faith or beliefs as you.

    1. The Honorable Harvest is a covenant of reciprocity between humans and the land

This would be a great goal if every human came together to have a like a monthly harvest where people just go out and help the world however they can.

    2. When we speak of the living world as kin, we also are called to act in new ways

I agree with this because often people don't think about the world and aren't thankful for being here and this often makes people destroy and not be kind to our world.

    1. We find it easy to tread on and crush a worm that we see crawling on the earth; soit is easy for us to cut or singe a slender thread that any thing hangs by; thus easyis it for God when he pleases to cast his enemies down to hell.

This comparison is very good and impactful because it's very easy for us to kill a small creature but it's just as easy for God to send someone down to hell.

    2. Yea, God is a great dealmore angry with great numbers that are now on earth

God see's everyone the same and loves us all the same he's never mad at someone or angry with them.

    1. a gift economy functions through an ethic of reciprocity and interconnection.

This quote is very good because there is a lot more that comes with the gift because the gift has meaning behind it which can end up having a lot of outcomes.

    2. Gratitude and reciprocity are the currency of a gift economy, and they have the remarkable property of multiplying with every exchange, their energy concentrating as they pass from hand to hand, a truly renewable resource.

I have never thought or looked at it this way but there are a lot of outcomes can come from giving a gift to someone.

    1. By encouraging openness between the Church and the scientific communities,

Science and faith have never gone together but it is very nice to see them work so well together

    2. “Our Knowledge of God and Nature: Physics, Philosophy and Theology”, is assuredly a crucial one for the contemporary world.

I like how they made a connection between science and faith it really just shows that everything has a little bit of God in it.

    1. Do not hesitate to give, nor complain when you give;

I like this because not everyone is as fortunate as another so helping them out could help set them right or help even the less fortunate get food.

    2. If someone strikes your right cheek, turn to him the other also, and you shall be perfect. If someone impresses you for one mile, go with him two. If someone takes your cloak, give him also your coat. If someone takes from you what is yours, ask it not back, for indeed you are not able. Give to every one who asks you, and ask it not back; for the Father wills that to all should be given of our own blessings (free gifts).

I really like the meaning of this statement because you cannot let people bring you down you just need to continue on Gods path.

    1. Everyone here has done this, of course. But it hasn’t yet been part of you graduates’ actual life routine, day after week after month after year.

This hasn't been apart of the graduates life daily life yet

    2. The story thing turns out to be one of the better, less bullshitty conventions of the genre, but if you’re worried that I plan to present myself here as the wise, older fish explaining what water is to you younger fish, please don’t be. I am not the wise old fish

I think this is interesting because Wallace doesn't present himself as the older wisher but instead is trying to present the main point of the story
