I'm noticing that this genre/time period, in addition to the chorus which is a GREAT narrative/expository element, is very heavy on the formalities. Obviously all of these gods and oracles should be treated with honor, but I keep imagining a contemporary actor cutting through the formal honorifics with quippy deliveries of lines like "I'm surprised he isn't here" line 328 to cut through some of the heavy language. It's not complicated language, it's just THICK.
