    1. figurative language to progress her argument

I agree, her use of figurative language really pushes her argument. It allows the readers to visualize the things she describes in which appealing to our senses and better understand the point she is trying to make.

    1. Women had served for centuries

Its very unfortunate that women have been on this earth for just as long as men have been on this earth yet there is a dynamic that places women below men at times. It is wrong and I'm glad things are changing in a more equal and positive direction.

    1. Woolf uses hyperbole to describe the feeling of anger she felt while her professor was talking about the perception of the mental, moral, and physical inferiority of women. For example, when she says, "My cheeks had burnt," her cheeks did not actually burn. Hyperbole is used to get the reader to understand how angry she is at her professor in this moment.

This was a great job analyzing this quote as figurative language used can really make the reader picture/visualize this situation. When a human's cheeks get red it can be because of a variety of reasons but the use of this hyperbole really makes you understand how she feels.

    1. "Perhaps now it would be better to give up seeking for the truth, and receiving on one's head an avalanche of opinion as hot as lava, discolored as dish-water."

This stood out to me when reading because it really adds to Woolf's feelings towards societies treatment and view on women. The use of figurative language really represented the relationship between society and women as it brought to life how bad and negative it truly is.
