      Euthyphro is amused that Socrates is making a distinction between a relative and a non-relative in this case he argues that they are the same and the fact that you are associated with the3 murderer is in fact worse and that it is your duty to seek punishment for the murderer as to clear yourself from said act

Socrates state that the people my even think that he talk to much laughing at him and to say it's just nonsense. Socrates state that as they laugh the time that pass as they wait will be cheerful and that they will get a favorable verdict by the court but they can't predict the future .

This is only the first step; he will afterwards attend to the elder branches; and if he goes on as he has begun, he will be a very great public benefactor.

      Meletus feels that the teaching of Socrates is controversial and outdated. He also feels like Socrates is influencing the young people with his teaching and accuse Socrates of impiety that he lacked reverence to the Gods and the norms and challenged there teaches. Socrates seem to respect the fact that Meletus is challenging his teaching and feels that this is the way to move conscious. Challenging Socrates is a great way for Meletus to gain popularity that he will benefit from.
