Kate thanked me for helping her catch up
Whats more important is that she recognizes that the therapy actually helped her and she knew this by saying thank you.
Kate thanked me for helping her catch up
Whats more important is that she recognizes that the therapy actually helped her and she knew this by saying thank you.
Kate wondered aloud whether she ought to spend a few years in therapy figuring out her relationship with her father or whether she should use that money and time on a Eurail pass to search for who she was.
In my opinion, I feel like people can know what they're here for without the need for a therapy is helps but at the end of the day is your life and you should know how to live it.
This was my cue
This shows what helps physiologist understand their patients. These is basically when the therapist starts to actually work into a solution.
twenties trying to make up for what her parents missed
she is Basically trying to not make the same mistake her parents made. The thing with this she is living someones else life instead of making her own. She should off focus on her only by this time.
Her father called to schedule her first appointment, and both of them presumed that father-daughter issues would come quickly to the fore
At least this family is trying to fix the problem. Someone once said that the first step to solving a problem is recognizing there's one.
Almost invariably, growth and development has what’s called a critical period. There’s a particular period of maturation in which, with external stimulation of the appropriate kind, the capacity will pretty suddenly develop and mature. Before that and later than that, it’s either harder or impossible.
I absolutely agree with the Quote. It is true because we become more mature do to experience of life. As you grow older you get a sense and a taste of life in a good way. You start to know thing and see things as they're. Obviously you, as an adult, have more wisdom than a kid that is only in Middle School.
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today And then one day you find, ten years has got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
This line is very Strong because we can all relate to it. When we were kids we were so excited to grow and do the adult life and we did't realize that we had basically our lives to live. Now that we are older and more wise we can see that time goes by extremely fast. We are usually in a fight for more time but time is what we don't really have much of.
We repeat unhealthy patterns from childhood, always latching on to people who will frustrate us in familiar but grievous ways
Some of us don't really know that much of a family. We grew up with the people we know and we set our standards to theirs. Whenever something is different we react differently to those scenarios. That's why something that seem completely fine to me may not look the same to you.
Choosing the wrong partner: We try to get together with people who don’t really suit us, because we don’t understand our needs
This a phase in our life. Think about it, How many people do you know are still with their first Boyfriend/Girlfriend? Me for instance i don't know anyone. This a phase that sets your standards, helps you know what you really like and need from someone.
WHY AND WHERE DOES SELF-KNOWLEDGE MATTER?
It matters in the time of being with yourself. Being who truly are not being someone that is not you. It matters because this defines you, it makes you who you're. This is effective when it comes to meeting new people or interacting. For example when someone ask you to answer the most difficult math question. Some would simply say i don't the answer while some will attempt to solve it. This two type of people bring different sense on who they're.
If you have solid answers to these issues, you’ll be able to speak of yourself as someone with an adequate degree of self-knowledge.
There's an answer for every question or at least an attempt. The answers make you who you're.
what problems do you have around success/failure
You can't get success if you didn't make mistakes first, If you didn't fail. There's so much that determines success but the main thing is failure.
It has been framed as quite literally the meaning of life.
No one really knows the meaning a life. I feel like we give it the meaning. For example for me it can mean having a good House, Good food, Good Clothing and a big family. However, this is just my meaning of life but that could all change when i find my purpose. Point is everyone has their own meaning on life. I find it quite intriguing that in the old times many people tried to aim for the same goal the same meaning of life which was not possible.
Know Yourself
I know myself way to much. I know from my darkest side to a side whom wouldn't hurt a fly.
What gives them their power is the narrowness of their focus. Unlike autobiography, which spans an entire life, memoir assumes the life and ignores most of it. The memoir writer takes us back to some corner of his or her past that was unusually intense—childhood, for instance—or that was framed by war or some other social upheaval.
I could really use this as in example in a future reference.
I know I set out to tell you every single thing I know about writing, but I am also going to tell you every single thing I know about school lunches, partly because the longings and dynamics and anxieties are so similar.
Its a good connection between the school lunch and writing. It can be a mess but later on is something way different. You start getting used to this lunch sometimes is better than the last.
It’s easier if you believe in God, but not impossible if you don’t.
This line defines many religions, and is true. Some people saying believing in something or someone gives you the ability to view life different. If you don't it doesn't mean that life is going to be Impossible but is going to be hard. I personally think it all depends in the Intentions.
I happened to mention this to a hypnotist I saw many years ago, and he looked at me very nicely. At first I thought he was feeling around on the floor for the silent alarm button, but then he gave me the following exercise, which I still use to this day.
I never seen a Hypnotist but i know that these people can see through you. See through the emotions.
Left to its own devices, my mind spends much of its time having conversations with people who aren’t there.
This another important thing. I may be quite and shy but in my brain i already had 5 full conversations with you without saying a single word. I sometimes hate this but I'm the way i am because i choose to be this way.
Quieting these voices is at least half the battle I fight daily.
I have a strong connection with these line. Everyone fights with their own mind on a daily basis. Everyone has their own battles that they need to fight. Just like me, I fight my battles with emotions, What do i mean? I mean that everyday i have to struggle with getting up and going to work, Coming home and doing work, trying to maintain a social life with friends and family. Is a battle everyday but i go through this battle everyday because i choose to. Being honest i'm doing this for a better future, I want to be in a good place in the future meaning economically and emotionally stable. Life is hard Especially with the Thought telling you to quit but is a constant battle. Some days My thoughts win.
It takes a while for our experience to sift through our consciousness. For instance, it is hard to write about being in love in the midst of a mad love affair. We have no perspective. All we can say is, “I’m madly in love,” over and over again. It is also hard to write about a city we just moved to; it’s not yet in our body. We don’t know our new home, even if we can drive to the drugstore without getting lost. We have not lived through three winters there or seen the ducks leave in fall and return to the lakes in spring.
This is true we can't fully write a lot of something we hardly know. However i think what we can do is Write about how it makes us feel towards something. It's hard to comprehend new things in life and adapt to a new a life style but however this is not hard it simply takes time. I think the Writer has an excellent point. "We have no perspective". This is true because everyone is different just like every place is different.
Mama was never good at pictures. This is a statue of a famous general who lost an arm, And this is me with my head cut off.
Emphasizing what her mom's abilities with the camera was which by the sound of it, doesn't sound very good. Is always nice to describe so readers can have a sense of what is it like.
I want to know when you get to be from a place
I can totally relate to this where you want to be from somewhere so bad because you simply feel connected to that place or is simply the only thing you know and you can't do anything about it because of all the laws and rules that stop you from being from that place.
The theft was forgiven but never the Indian blood
This can be when the New Americans wanted to expand but the Indian's where there already and didn't really liked the idea of having their land taken away and maybe that is why there was a controversial with anything and Indian did.
I have touched his boots and moustache, the grandfather whose people owned slaves and cotton.
This can probably mean that the time period while this was going was around when slavery was still a thing in the United States Of America
I have guarded my name as people in other times kept their own clipped hair, believing the soul could be scattered if they were careless.
This can mean that she probably doesn't like her name so she hides it away from the public just to avoid any sort of contact. She then moves on to make a connection with the way she gourds her name to describe the intensity of that name.
I carve my crooked name, and again at night until my hand and arm are sore, I carve my crooked name, my name.
This makes me think that she was determined to get that good hand write or just wanted to improve on herself simply because of what had happen earlier. Is always good to improve on the things you most want to get over such a challenge.
She slides her arms around me: a warm shawl, lifts my left arm onto the cold, lined paper.
This makes me think that she really liked the way she put her arm around her. Or maybe is the complete opposite she is getting a bad feeling and doesn't like it because in the previous sentence she said that the teacher approach her with intentions of helping but she might not like it.
Until my great-grandfather threw a sack over her head and carried her off.
Scratching what i said we can see that she was probably force into the relationship. Perhaps she might off have fallen in love with this Great-Grandfather.
a wild horse of a woman, so wild she wouldn’t marry.
She uses personification to describe her Great-Grandmother. from this sentence i can see that her great grandmother wasn't married and inferring probably didn't have a partner by her side.
It means sadness, it means waiting.
The author is describing hope as something sad because you have to wait for that and is probably not going to even come. Well in her way that is what she thinks her name really means but everyone can interpret that into something else.
In English my names means hope
Right off the bat, the author gives us a sense of her name. Of what in English means. Everyone has different meanings on their name. Just like in other countries or places the name can symbolize something because everyone has a name that was given to them.
“My Name,”
Personally "My Name" can be a lot of meanings into a story it can be talking about literally anything. (Aron Reyes Garcia)
