Interesting opening to the story. It sets it up to show what the story will be about, trying to be uncaged.

    1. Even when she was in public, talking to people or driving through traffic or carrying forms and charts and samples in the halls of the clinic, she dimly sensed the greater part of herself turned inside, like a bug tunnelling in the earth with its tiny sensate legs. All through the earth was the dull roar of unknown life forms. She could not see it or hear it as she might see and hear with her human eyes and ears, but she could feel it with her fragile insect legs.

Interesting description the author used to describe the character as a bug, slightly confusing

    1. argot met Robert on a Wednesday night toward the end of her fall semester.

I think the story could have started off better. It starts off interesting, but sets it up to seem like a typical love story.

Interesting change in Roberts character how he goes from being seen as sweet and cares about her to now making fun of her and calling her a whore. He before, as described by her, was sweet and when he kissed her on the head it made her think he was a nice guy. You can tell how he is feeling hurt and betrayed in this dialogue.

Good opening to the story and made me want to continue reading. Sets up the arc of the story right away and shows the dreariness the story will be about.
