Commentary on the monks being really fat? Maybe also on the dog with visible ribs???

I LOVE this drastic development (and his eyepatch). This comic is frustrating and ridiculous, and somehow I'm kind of getting pulled in...

Does all of this story have a specific point? If this is supposed to support some argument that Oldbuck is a dim-witted but good person because he takes care of his property (that he just picked up and claimed) then it's a very frustrating read.

Aside from missing story from the scanlation, the flow from page to page of this comic seems to be focused on the illustrator's rather than the author's standpoint. Even thought they are one and the same a page doesn't feel like a complete thought/ mini-arc.

The narration is often a sentence fragment that acts as more of a caption or characterless voice. Will the narrator develop a personality like we often see in more contemporary comics?
