      I think what's sad is that in many highschools they promote the idea of there only being "one right answer," which seems to be what really stomps out the critical inquiry and dialogue. It also emphasizes the teacher's comfort rather than giving the students freedom to discuss their interpretation of the text.

      I don't like how they use the word 'barbaric' here. I'm sure there are people who actually think that way, but just because you don't understand another person's culture, it doesn't mean it's barbaric. I think that's also what media like National Geographic is trying to show, which makes it such a good resource for classrooms.

    3. The fight against censorship is a continuing series of skirmishes, not a pitched battle leading to a final victory over censorship.

      I like this phrasing. It's like saying that censorship might win a battle, but there will be others that it won't win.
