Like when his knees buckle and Enkidu is exhausted him, for sure Gilgamesh the half God half man will not let such Beast-Man knock/defeat him in his kingdom just like this. So, Gilgamesh asked Enkidu the question and decide to have him in his side to fight the Humbaba. instead of fight with him and bead him down in his kingdom.
