    1. Together we created a training program for boys and girls who could not attend my school, sharing vital information about gender equality, health and human rights. Today we have reached over 10,000 boys and girls and counting.

I love the fact that Kakenya Ntaiya is offering education to those who cannot attend. Education is important for everyone, especially teaching children about gender equality, human rights, and health from a young age can bring a change in the community and allow their perspective change. I’m appreciating the fact that she is not leaving any kid behind and offering education equally to girls and boys who cannot attend school.

    2. Girls were still going through FGM, still leaving school, still getting married to men older than their fathers and still having children when they’re teenagers. I did not want to see any more girls go through that. That’s when I knew what I needed to do to give back to my community.

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that they would do genital manipulation on young girls and force them to marry a stranger man that is old enough to be their father. I never knew there were places that still followed this “standard” norm, It was very heartbreaking to hear. All these young girls have so much potential and providing education will allow these womens to live a better life and not depend on anyone.

    1. So a country like America has twice as much food on its shop shelves and in its restaurants than is actually required to feed the American people.

Not only a restaurant that produces the most waste but also grocery stores. The plenty of food they're just throwing out could be used differently than just wasting it. In other countries their portion of the foods are small comparing to American restraints. I think the reason behind it is to have less food waste. I heard that food waste has been recycled as livestock feed by the governments of Asian countries in just a few years. It is environmentally friendly, provides farmers in certain parts of the country with low-cost livestock feed, and keeps food waste from being disposed of in landfills.

    2. the injustice of food waste, and the provision of the solution to food waste, which is simply to sit down and eat food, rather than throwing it away.

Food waste is one of the biggest silent problems in our world today. Not many people know how much it's being wasted and what it takes to drain all that wasted food. We waste natural resources such as land, water, and energy because we throw away food. People don't really think much about trashing the leftover food or just generally they throw it away because they don't want it anymore. It's ironic that we have so much food waste yet we still fighting world hunger. There are many simple ways that we can reduce this massive problem.

    1. Now, the Global Goals are certainly ambitious, but they’re not about turning the world into Norway in just 15 years. So having looked at the numbers, my estimate is that a score of 75 would not only be a giant leap forward in human well-being, it would also count as hitting the Global Goals target. So there’s our target, 75 out of 100. Can we get there?

I like how the speaker is not promoting fake hope and being honest with his audiences. We can try to reach 100 but I don’t think it will be possible. However, 75 is a more realistic goal that we can reach in the next 15 years if we all contribute together. Some people have this mentality where they think they will not make any impact whether they get involved or not. That’s the thing we should stop doing. One voice can make a difference and we’ll be able to achieve our goals and live a better life because we are in this together.

    2. What do we have to get to achieve the Global Goals?

Within this lifetime, malnutrition will be reduced if we build better conditions for farmers and concentrate on the needs of undernourished groups. Sustainability involves using less natural resources for food processing and reducing the excess and lack of food. With technologies readily available, the economic challenge-by making long-term infrastructure ventures both bankable and scalable-and the capability limitations are the key factors to overcome. If we all could come together and take serious action we will be able to achieve those goals at any time.

    3. Do you think the world is going to be a better place next year? In the next decade? Can we end hunger, achieve gender equality, halt climate change, all in the next 15 years?

I don’t think that the world is will change drastically in the next 15 years. We’ve been talking about stopping world hunger for many years now and think it will take much more time to fully stop it from happening. For climate change, I also don’t think that we can stop it but we can slow down the rapidly increasing speed and prevent it from increasing. Only, if we could do things differently and actually make changes then we can achieve our goals.

    1. Mindfully respond to others’ ideas (acknowledge someone’s ideas before presenting your own)

Whether you disagree or agree with others' ideas it is essential to be mindful of your feedback and respond. There is no need to push your idea to others if they have something different than yours. Being open-minded can help expand your knowledge and learn more from others. Sometimes we criticize others for their mistakes and errors but we all make mistakes. However, when mistakes happen we can respond with knowledge rather than criticization. I think one of the greatest ways to improve yourself is applying the most commonly occurring feedback to yourself.

    2. To act or speak violently out of spite, chauvinism, or self-interest, to impoverish, exploit or deny basic rights to anybody, and to incite hatred by denigrating others—even our enemies—is a denial of our common humanity.

This is something that people do intentionally or unintentionally. No one knows how many words can hurt and affect others. Putting down someone in order to feel better about themselves is their way of hiding their insecurities. Common humanity is when we acknowledge and respect each other. We are all living on the same earth, we're all humans if we could just appreciate our differences and understand that we're all the same then today's society would be a better place.

    3. The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical, and spiritual traditions, calling us always to treat all others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the center of our world and put another there, and to honor the inviolable sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody, without exception, with absolute justice, equity, and respect.

Compassion simply means when you feel concerned or sympathy for others. Since you feel compassion you act upon it. This paragraph worded perfectly how compassion lies at the heart of all. Something that we were all taught when we were younger is treating others the way we wanted to be treated. It is a Golden Rule that whatever you put in is what you will receive. We are all humans everyone is different and special in their own way so it is important to treat others equally without exception.
