I have used a similar chrome extension called Image Translate, Documents to text that will translate a picture of a document or PDF. I had a few Spanish speaking students at the start of the year who knew very little english and this at least helped in that language barrier. I did have a student that spoke dead South American language last year that unfortunately was not supported by any app, extension, or the like. She knew very little Spanish as well so that did not help either. She was a smart kid that wanted to learn to play the violin; which reading music is already like learning a foreign language, and through small phrases and much pointing to pictures and whatnot we were able to communicate fairly well with each other.

Students could rehearse with each other when not able to physically meet.

Students could create a multimedia poster about their favorite band/artist.

I could have students utilize this tool by having them create a spoken word song to which they do not have to be seen.

I could have students create a website as if they were the website designer for their favorite musician and had to put up information such as new album release, tour dates, etc.

A program like this could be utilized in my class where I have students record a small music snippet and add graphics to it.

I do like how this is presented through the use of games. Our current students can be very game driven and this might help to spark some interest.
