    1. Takeaways

I think the main thing is just to keep reminding yourself to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and you will find ways to do so. Then, as you get better, it becomes easier to do so and turns into a positive feedback loop

    2. Knowing the unique triggers that make you uncomfortable and facing those challenges instead of turning away from them is the best way to learn and grow.

Yes! Every different situation has a different trigger.

🌐 Makes me think back to the procrastination lesson

    3. If, on the other hand, you experience intense fear or anxiety in new situations, this could be a sign of a mental health issue that needs separate attention.2Kampman O, Viikki M, Leinonen E. Anxiety disorders and temperament-an update review. Curr Psychiatry Rep. 2017;19(5):27. doi:10.1007/s11920-017-0779-5 If your fear is intense, persistent, and interferes with your ability to function normally, talk to your doctor.

I don't think this applies to me, so I can feel free to busy myself more

    4. You can be uncomfortable without being scared. Being uncomfortable is a normal and healthy part of life that can't be avoided.

Though sometimes the body and mind holds irrational fear about something. There is nothing that is of danger, but the mind perceives it as a danger

    5. you'll find that the things that used to *seem* scary aren't as intimidating as you thought.

This highlights another important aspect -- you need to go back to the things and "update" your fears to show that you've overcome it.

    6. Instead, it's about gradually extending yourself a bit beyond what's easy and comfortable.

This is like gradually stretching your muscles so they become more flexible

    1. Count your blessings. A better focus is on what you do have, on what you are already blessed with. Count what you have, not what you don’t. Think about how lucky you are to have what you have, to have the people in your life who care about you, to be alive at all.

      And be grateful :D

    2. Where you are on the ladder of accomplishments or purchases has nothing to do with what you want to do.

I want to highlight this part because this addresses what i think comparing is for--setting a baseline or knowing where you are. But where you are compared to other people doesn't change how you should do things! If you really want to do something, then you just look forward and see how you can get better. There doesn't have to be an impact for other people to be better or worse than you--you just keep doing your own thing.

    3. Even if you do well in comparison with others, you may be artificially inflated from this comparison. It’s a short-lived boost of ego if you win the comparison — easily knocked down.

This is true! You shouldn't be basign your self-esteem, or worse, self-worth on where you are compared to other people. While I think it's good to know where you are relative to other people (bc when you are better at a skill than others, you can use that as an advantage), it's also important to remain humble. I always remind myself that anyone can become as good as or even better than you--it's just a matter of time and effort. (This applies to you too!)

    4. I think it’s natural to compare ourselves to others,

I agree. I think that there is some sort of function of comparing with others so you can gauge where you are. This is especially important if I think back to how we used to lived in smaller groups and so we must continuously strive to be of value

    1. Guess what: the Bible teaches that there is such a standard. It is God Himself.

Okay but once again the Bible relies on God. But if you aren't convinced in what the Bible says then how can you believe in God...?

    2. Maybe you’ve experienced this. You’ve been reading the Bible, and you’ve realized that it was revealing to you certain qualities about yourself—it was convicting you about a sin in your life, or it was encouraging you with a promise from God that was exactly what you needed

Not only does the bible do this, but okay. This is a valid point

    3. God’s word

That part is true... But if the bible is "God's word," but it's the bible that says God exists, then is it not just the same source citing itself?
