    1. ngaging with art is essential to the human experience. Almost as soon as motor skills are developed, children communicate through artistic expression. The arts challenge us with different points of view, compel us to empathize with “others,” and give us the opportunity to reflect on the human condition. Empirical evidence supports these claims: Among adults, arts participation is related to behaviors that contribute to the health of civil society, such as increased civic engagement, greater social tolerance, and reductions in other-regarding behavior.

I had no idea that art was this essential.

    1. Consider what happened in 2009, the most recent time the world mobilized to produce vaccines to stop a pandemic.

I actually had no idea that this was serious enough to be considered a pandemic

    2. with 27 vaccines already in human trials.

I had no idea that there were that many vaccines. It's interesting reading this article now knowing that there are 3 main vaccines that made it into production.

I feel like the view that people are enslaved by their phones is definitely a generational thing. The people that say these things grew up in a time when this technology was not available, and don't quite understand how it works.

    1. The table below should make it easier for you to find these words or phrases.

I often use many of these words in my papers, but I never realized that they were transitions.

    1. Remember we’re all on the same team.

I think this is very important because often times when people argue, they only do it to prove themselves right and make themselves look good, instead of actually trying to solve the problem.

    1. Students assigned to the online option also rated their class as more difficult than did their peers assigned to the face-to-face option.

From my experience, almost all of my online classes have been easier than the in- person option. Math is just probably easier in person since you can directly ask the teacher a question if you need help.
