I feel as if the boy taunting the monster referring to him as ugly and saying that he was going to eat him was only him manifesting his fate. While the monster did not eat him, he still ended up dead as he predicted. Had he just calmed down and seen what he wanted or at least psych him into thinking he is listening he probably would have lived beyond that day.

This is a posture or the way the body/head is being held. In this context I take it to mean the pose or any material we have once we pass does not matter after time passes

This to me is saying going against what we would normally expect from winter. Oxford has this word as going against wishes or advice of others
. The business of the poet is not to find new emotions, but to use the ordinary ones and, in working them up into poetry, to express feelings which are not in actual emotions at all.
What makes the poem any different from another that does promote readers to find new emotions?
