This last quote by Jeffrey Peipert, MD, PhD is vital to understand. Unplanned pregnancies and abortions are linked. I don't think most people realize that over 90 percent of abortions are due to unplanned pregnancies. We need to stop endlessly arguing about being pro choice or pro life. Instead we need to try and fix this problem at the source, then there won't even be a need for all these arguments. In turn we will help our current issues in child hunger, overcrowded orphanages and many other big issues our country is facing.

I love this statistic in this article. It shows the real effect that offering them free birth has. Only 4.4 to 7.5 per 1,000 women had abortions compared to the national rate of 19.6 per 1000 women. Imagine amplifying that to the entire United States. There are approximately 155 million women in the United States. Imagine the effect of lowering the abortion rate by up to 78 percent.
