I think it is really dangerous how much misinformation is state-sponsored, not just specifically Russia. Some of the largest superpowers in the world compete with each other to try to attack one another for misinformation, all while perpetuating their own misinformation.
Just the sheer amount. Every single post was like, ‘cancer, Covid, diabetes, autism.’
These topics seem common problems with health misinformation. For years the anti-vaccine debate was centered around autism. It's sad that people keep falling for the same misinformation and scare tactics.
In the last several months, the groups have seen a rise in members from anti-vaccine and Covid-denial communities
I think that this goes along with the reading we did on faith in 'gut feelings' linked to belief in fake news. Those that are susceptible to falling for misinformation use that same logic for different kinds of research, and will spread to other misinformation traps like anti-vaccine.
