Congress adopting the Declaration of Independence is without a doubt one of the most important dates in American History. This is not the reason this date is important to me. Herbie Hancock, one of the greatest jazz musicians to ever live, released his first album Takin' Off. This album helped me through a long freshman year, and is a large part of my life.
