Why plead guilty if your innocent?
Innocence Project database of exonerations includes dozens of people who falsely pleaded guilty. "This isn't just having an effect on those individuals," said Dervan, who co-chaired the task force. "It's having an effect on the entire community and the safety of the entire community."
People who are falsely pleaded guilty, isn't okay because that means that the person who actually committed the crime is still out there, committing other crimes while someone innocent is serving it's time. People shouldn’t serve time for these people. The prosecutor should own up to what they did.
that cites innocent defendants who agree to falsely plead guilty, sometimes on the advice of their own lawyers
I feel like people should just stop covering for other peoples mistakes. It's not right for an innocent people to serve multiple years for something they didn't commit.
a trial penalty — that can add seven to nine years or more to their sentence
A trail penalty is good, because if the crime they committed was very then I agree for them to add more years for them to serve. If it's someone innocent covering up a crime they didn't commit then this isn't fair.
innocent people are coerced into guilty pleas because of the power prosecutors hold over them

These people do something they don't like and end up getting killed by the family or yes within their group. They aren’t going to care what it was or why you did it but i feel like that shouldn’t happen because people deserve to fix their mistake and learn from it, not just make a mistake and kill them.
Officers are better at stopping people at random than at tracking down those who do real harm; they are better at arrest sweeps than at investigating major crimes.
They should pay more attention in where the crime is at and put the work in to find the person who is causing the crime, and protect the others, now and days some aren't doing it's job.
Solving these murders and other serious crimes of violence in black communities should be a top goal for law enforcement
Solving these crimes should be there top goal, these people can't be on the loose, that would cause more serious crimes and can affect many people, they won't feel protected because there a murder on the loose.
far too many killers have gotten away with far too many crimes for far too long, fueling a disastrous murder epidemic.
Many of these people aren't serving the right time in jail, some don't deserve to be free in a short amount of time. There are others that disappear after they have done their crime and police don't end up finding them, but these people should be in jail a serve their time for the crime they committed.
