    1. Lodovico.

In every tragedy there needs to be this character that helps shed the life on the truth. Lodovico is so important at the end of the play yet he comes in late in the play and doesn't seem too important.

    2. They are loves I bear to you

At this point, Othello should have seen even staring death in its eyes, Desdemona has no idea what sin he is talking about. He should have then stopped and taken a breath for a second.

    3. O my dear Cassio! my sweet Cassio!

In this play, the characters tend to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I guess that is what makes this story so tragic

    4. I do not think there is any such woman.

The further along in the play I get, the younger Desdemona appears to be. I don't know if we ever get her age, but her views on the world and the immediate dismissal of any chance for Othello to be jealous makes it seem like she does not have a lot of experience in the world.

    5. how am I false

Desdemona is a bit naïve and blind if she can't see why Othello is so mad. Yes, it is under false pretenses but she could have opened her eyes a bit more and actually saw her surroundings and what she was doing and really analyze why Othello could be so mad.

    6. he had my handkerchief.

Othello is stuck on this one piece of evidence. I feel like if he really did love Desdemona he could have found at least one more actual thing to prove Desdemona's unfaithfulness

    7. Or to be naked with her friend in bed

Iago is the master at planting ideas and images into Othello's head. You don't necessarily need to say a fact or the truth out right to convince someone of something. If you plant the seed and let the person imagination run wild is just as detrimental.

    8. I say, it is not lost.

At times like these, it shocks me why people can't just be honest and transparent. I feel like it would have saved a lot of heart ache and struggles in the near future. I know it is for the drama but like Desdemona could have chosen a worst time to lie

    9. but my noble MoorIs true of mind and made of no such basenessAs jealous creatures are, it were enoughTo put him to ill thinking.

This is the only spot where Desdemona acknowledges Othello's color. She foolishly dismisses and therefore can't comprehend why Othello could be so jealous and angered. If she would have just saw Othello for who he was, a man of color, she would have realized the struggles he was going through.

    10. handkerchief

This handkerchief plays an important part in Othello's downfall. He always states that he needs proof of Desdemona's unfaithfulness and Iago pieces together these feeble lie about Desdemona giving this handkerchief to Cassio and Othello clings to it like a bee to honey.

    11. And so she did

At this point, Othello has began to accept the racial identity that many of the other characters, mainly Iago, has placed on him. In Zhou Xiaojing's journal, "Othello's Color in Shakespeare's Tragedy" he goes to explain how Othello's race functions in the tragedy revealing the complexity and inner struggle Othello possesses throughout the play. Throughout the entirety of the play, Othello had to put up with racial jeering about his identity and love with Desdemona. However, throughout all of it he counters these racial attacks with self confidence in his self worth and his love with Desdemona. So, at this turning point, instead of seeing Othello as a simple- minded and passionate barbarian, he should be seen as a man who has accomplished much despite the challenge of being a person of color in a "color-coded axiological world." Unfortunately, as he begins to see himself through the eyes of Iago he meets this inner change and the start of his downfall begins.

    12. Throw your vile guesses in the devil’s teeth

It is sad to see Bianca get treated so badly from Cassio. Before all this, Cassio seemed like a good man with good intentions but after this, my view of him just goes down because no decent person would treat someone else like this

    13. Clown

I find it interesting that Shakespeare includes the clown character in this play. I get how it is supposed to be relief after the heavy act before but I feel like it is misplaced.

    14. prove

Othello always needed proof from Iago or proof that Desdemona was being unfaithful and I find it very interesting that he needed it so bad but was so willing to accept the flimsy lie of the handkerchief.

    15. You cannot, if my heart were in your hand;Nor shall not, whilst ’tis in my custody.

If Othello knew even one true thought of Iago's he would be truly shocked and betrayed at how much Iago is scheming

    16. thy brow together

Just stating this shows how Othello is paying so much attention to what Cassio does and acts and over analyzes every small gesture and this is all thanks to Iago. He played with Othello's head and now has him noticing every little thing

    17. my

I find it interesting that Othello uses the word my. It shows that he is very possessive and sees Desdemona as his thought he does not act that way sometimes

    18. I will doAll my abilities in thy behalf.

This shows how Desdemona is very kind and friendly and wants to help out her friend in every way possible but because of her kind heart and good friend quality, she meets her downfall since Othello can't see pass his jealousy. This jealousy was put there because of Iago

    19. And I’ll devise a mean to draw the Moor

Iago, throughout the play, does a very good job at getting people to do what he wants. He gives advice that no one thinks twice about which is quite sad to see how all the characters fell into his trap.
