This is another time where Celie is just treated like trash. She just got her head busted open becasue on of the kids throwing a rock, and instead of helping her and punishing the kid Mr just says stop that, its so sad.

This really shows the bond these sisters have. Celie uses Nettie as hope i think. She doesn't know if Nettie is getting her messages but she kept sending them to her, it give her hope i think. The idea that someone out there listens to her and cares.

I think this is a very important line that will impact Celie. Celie has never fought or stood up for herself and she needs to. It's obviously easier said than done, especially in her situation but see someone else not let them self get beaten on could inspire her.

I think what this is saying is that with all that has happened to Celie she doesn't feel like anyone is going to help her. She doesn't want to keep asking god for help because she feels like she stuck and she is going to say that way.

The start of this book is very disturbing, and I felt pretty uncomfortable reading it at the start. Celie is just getting treated like garbage throughout the book, her father is abusive to her and violates her. He also is always putting her down saying she is ugly. I think it so she won;t find any corsage to leave possibly. The sad part is that You can tell Celie knows this is wrong because she asks god what is happening to her, but it also seems like she is doing it like a job, as something that she just has to do because she has no escape.
