      I find this contradictory to the argument that the author is attempting to make however by still establishing that this action is incorrect the author strengthens her argument that the military is doing something wrong.

      The author attaches unappealing characteristics to the military head so as to reduce his worth. She steers public opinion towards the opinion that this man is unworthy of the position of a leader and softens the blow of the publics actions in defacing his pictures.

      The author provides a rather diverse and 'oddball' group do characterize the extent to which the coup effects the community. In other words what is happening does not simply effect the stereotypical office worker or family person but everyone no matter their occupation, age, gender or even species in this case.

      Perhaps a sarcastic comment about the lack of direct action taken by the world. They are simply watching and are not doing anything.

      The group of protestors is characterized not as a 'mob' as percieved by the military supporters or as simply 'protestors' but as a crowd to demonstrate the need of such actions by the public.
